Default Echo solo or Reginton pursuit??

Does anyone have any experiance in using these rods. I plan on using them on an alaskan trip for salmon like silver, pink, maybe some king and trout.Im on a tight budget and most of my money is going towards the reel(Orvis access IV).I plan on buying them in 8wt.

Which rod will look best with that reel?

Seriously. I have only cast the Pursuit. It will cast fine for all the different payloads that you need to deliver.

Can you test cast both rods? That might help you decide.

In my opinion, the best rod is going to have the stiffer butt section. You will need that to help leverage the fish towards you.

I would suggest the Redington.

I am a big fan of Echo rods and own quite a few. However, i find the Solo to be too slow for my tastes. Too slow in a more wild wobbly kind of way, imo.

Why dont you spend a little more and get the Echo Ion. I have two and think they are great rods for the price point.
