I have the 9' 6 wt. SC5 whatever that is called. I built it back when the SC5 was the top of the line St. Croix. I like the rod. I don't use it as much as some of my rods because it's a 2 piece and I pack the 4 piece rods along more often. Not a thing wrong with the rod though.

I have a 9', 4wt that I like and use often.

One thing I like about St Croix is their 'spare tips' program. $30 to your door for a spare tip for most rods. I bought one for this rod, just in case.

I have the 8' 4wt and like it alot. It is a good small stream nymphing rod. It will really sail small dries too. A good all around rod without a super fast tip.

I"ve owned several and could never get the knack of casting them...until I got the 4pc 5wt. Once I gave the Avid what it wanted, it casted wonderfully.
