Can u guys tell me anything about my friends rod?

If they are the rods I am thinking of they should have metal ferrules. Do they???

What makes you think that the rod is aluminum ?

I think that if you were to scrape off a bit of the paint you'll find that the blank is tobacco colored fiberglass and the ferrules to be chromed brass.
G/C used the "Conoguard" baked finish on their blanks as VU protection and to hide imperfections.
It's probably a late '60s rod as G/C went to spigot ferrules after 1970

I have a blue 8', 6wt and a brown 6'6", 6wt.
