I agree about the RPL's. I fish a 7'6" 5wt., although I am not familiar with all the other comparable rods. I broke the tip on mine. They made me a replacement tip with their newer honeycomb closer fitting graphite tube technology. So bottom is old RPL while top is what looks like Konnetic or similar. Not sure how it will fish. It sure seems fast in the flick.
To the OP, A similar rod, I fish is nice too, for under $200 is the St, Croix Imperial. I have a 4wt 7'6| that is nice and accurate. It scored very high for a under 200 rod in a big rod review that was carried out.
