Congrats! I have a couple Winstons. My 9' 10 wt. is my favorite single hand rod. I just built a new 10' 7 wt. BIIX. Unfortunately there is still 3' of ice on the river so it's going to be a while before I can cast it. At least for fish.

Man I am envious or your reel seat. The box elder burl on mine is plain in comparison.

Holy Cow! It's above freezing... sort of. It's right at 32* F, so I'm pretty sure it will make it above freezing. I'm hoping this is a trend. Where's the cross your fingers smiley?

Finally, after over a year saving, I bought a new Winston Boron III-SX 9ft 6wt!
A few years ago, some forum members were complaining about the high cost of premium rods, and others were saying they could never afford one. I started a thread (too far back in time to find it) about how skipping a cup of Starbuck's, cutting back on smokes, snacks, etc would give a person enough savings in one year to buy a rod as sweet as this Winston. You've proven it can be done. Congrats on saving and buying what you wanted, and enjoy every minute on the water!

Congratulations! The wood spacer in that reel seat is gorgeous and I think it is very classy to write the rod's name in script by hand rather than the ubiquitous stenciling so common today.
