Echo Ion VS Redington Voyant (10' 7 Wt)

Hi !

What do you think ? Ion or Voyant ? Both rods cost $190.

Or, any suggestion for a 10' 7 wt for Great Lake trib steelhead/light salmon, in a $200 $250 ?

Thanks

Dont know if you've already made your purchase but im a huge fan of redington rods. Fish a 10ft 7wt pursuit here in ohio for steels and i use a classic trout 9ft 5wt out in utah on provo. Both faster action and wonderful feels. Hope this helps

Hi Rockriv;

It always help ! Thanks for trhe message.

I've also try the other day the 10' 7 wt Voyant, and was impressive: cool finish blank, light, and good tip action. I will purchase this one. The Echo is a very good rod too, but a little heavier, with softer action.

I will make a review when I purchase the rod.

I have an Echo Ion 10ft 7wt for Erie tribs and have always liked it. I broke it 1 day, ran to the nearest fly shop and impulse bought the first reasonable rod i could find. I ended up with a Mystic Reaper. it was in the $200 range and to me is a nicer rod than the Echo.
