Default Orvis superfine fullflex 3.0 vs Midflex?

Hi Guys:

I'm looking for opinions on these two. I have the opportunity to choose between on these rods. The fullflex is a 7' rod, and the Midflex is a 7'6" rod.

The rod would be used for some of the step-over streams we have out here, but some of these streams lead into Beaver ponds where there are a handful of lunkers.

I'm hoping to augment my old Sage L.L. with one of these rods.

Respects,

Richard

"Superfine" and "Midflex" don't go together... what exactly are these rods?

All I'm going by is the tag on the rods. I am just not that familiar with the Orvis line up.. Wish I was!

Respects,

Richard

The full flex would be a Superfine line. The mid-flex , mostly likely, is the Access line. Both fine rods.

I ended up buying the Superfine Fullflex 3.0. It is a 4wt 7' 4pc rod.

It was a rush purchase on my part, but the friend I bought it from had an neighbor that was interested. So, for the $175.00 invested, I would assume if it does not work for me, I could get my $$ back by selling it on eBay, or here on the classified.

I've been a Sage guy for a lot of years, but am looking forward to comparing this Orvis to my old Sage LL.

Respects,

Richard

Thank you fly-guy.

I am looking forward to compairng these two rods. I imagine the Orvis will be a fine rod for drys. The LL works well with drys, and nymphs.

Respects,

Richard

I pulled out a Ross Vexsis 1.5 new in the box that has been loafing around here for some time now. I will load it with 100 yds of backing, and Rio Trout Lt WF4 wt .

My plan is, for this to be a dry fly only rod for little water.

At 7' this will certainly be the shortest rod I own, but these step-over streams out here are really brush covered.

Hope it works out!

Respects,

Richard
