Default Re: 6wt or 7wt

I would say go with a six wt; It seems to me the six is on the upper spectrum of "smaller" rods, i.e trout etc. and the seven is on the lower spectrum of the "bigger" rods, i.e steelhead etc.. An invisible line if you will, although I guess, one could argue the seven lives in no mans land between the border of the two. Hmmm, I'm waxing philosophical now, at any rate I hope you can understand where I am coming from when I recommend the six wt. for you're purposes. Good luck

Fishing outfits are kind of like cars. You should buy what will work 90% of the time. From what you've described, a 6wt would be more than sufficient for most 90% of the fishing you will do and is a more versatile (and dare I say re-sellable) outfit.

Thank you everyone for all of the help, I think I am
Making this alot harder of a choice than it should be, I am still not really sure what to go with I have been fishing with a 6 wt last summer and the one before I wasn't able to through big enough flies and that might be why I didn't catch a whole lot of bass? When I used my spinning rod I was catching them like crazy but bass don't like the little flies? I guess I still don't know haha thanks for the info though
