Sage TCX 8wt. Line for Texas Redfish/Trout?

Looking for suggestions on best line to use with a Sage TCX 8wt for Texas Inshore Reds & Trout.

Rio Redfish
Rio Bonefish
or Other

Also - Any advantage of "overlining" the TCX with 9wt line?

Thanks Much

Re: Sage TCX 8wt. Line for Texas Redfish/Trout?

I'm led to believe that the Rio Bonefish Quickshooter and the Redfish line are identical (I think i read that here). The Rio Bonefish line is a longer taper that's a bit more delicate and probably easier to cast a bit more distance, but i think the Redfish line will fight the wind a bit better and load better for short quick casts.

I believe that the bonefish QS/redfish taper is 0.5 line weight heavy already.

I would line it up with GPX 8wt. its already about a line and half heavier. My 5wt TCX loooooves the 5wt GPX. I plan to go with it again on a 7wt.

And you answer your final question, yes the TCX likes to be overlined.
