Congratulations on your purchase. Clearly you're a candidate for the Tackle Junkies, don't you think Ard? That's one pretty looking rod in dire need of getting fished! For factory produced rods, small batch excluded, you'd be hard pressed to find a rod with better craftsmanship than many of the Winstons. That deep green blank, does it for me too. Great cork, beautiful spacer and the nickel silver hardware. Pretty tough to beat those aesthetics.

That begs the question, why the skeletal seats on the new version of the B3-LS.

I'm going to safely assume that the skeletal reel seat is not mandatory. It's Winston, after all, and they're known for their class. I had the b2t and loved it. When that rod comes out, I might buy the 4 weight.
