Default sage Xi2 vs Winston BII-MX

Hello
I have been using the Sage Xi2 9' 9wt with a RIO 9wt Outbound (375 grains) for stripers in Narragansett Bay and have been pleased with that combination. I had a chance to lawn cast a Winston BII-MX 9' 9wt with the RIO line. Based on that limited use, the Winston seemed to be much lighter in the hand and cast with a great deal more ease! Wonder if any one can verify/provide insight. Thanks Dave

I haven't cast the Xi2, but the B2MX is a super fast rod. Personally, I've always liked it, but it's NOT a bonefish rod. It has virtually no accuracy in close.

There are probably some good used deals floating around because of that.

Thanks I am casting between 40 and 80 feet usually. Sounds like this may be my new rod if I can twist the bosses arm!

You can take a gander of Sage Xi3 too, a big step beyond the Xi2 and, if you like fast, the TCX's are on sale due to the introduction of Method. And then there is Loomis NRX and Hardy Proaxis to consider. There are some killer striped bass rods on the market right now including some that will crossover to flats fishing.
