Default Purchasing a 3 weight

Hello folks,

I am in the market for a three weight rod and was hoping I could get the opinions of some of you out there. I was looking at either a G Loomis Pro4X 8' 3 weight or a Orvis Recon 8' 4". I like both of these rods having cast the 5 weights in both and owning the 9' 5 weight GL Pro4X. Any advice?

Cast them!!
I was stunned at the difference between a 4wt and 3wt Zenith, two totally different rods.
So cast them, just to be sure, or make absolutely certain you can return a rod that completely surprises you.
