Default Scott Meridian

Well, as previously speculated Scott has indeed replaced the S4 and it's replacement is called the Meridian. Very curious if this rod will make a run at taking over the NRX as the saltwater king.

We've fished the Meridian prototype extensively. It's an awesome rod - probably the best 4-piece rod for fishing in FL. We'll have a review up in the next few days.

I saw the the website this morning. I came here to post the news, you beat me to it. I called Scott to ask where I might be able to demo a rod, looks like they be ready to ship in a couple weeks

Hoping we'll see the S4s's discounted soon.

Off subject a bit, but how much backing were you able to get on the reel with the line used?

Thanks

I never cast the S4s with the Chard taper, so it's not really a fair comparison, but it's the most accurate 4-piece rod I've cast to date. Based on memory, I'd say this rod is a little quicker and likes a little more of the line load up front, where the S4s was a little better at really delicate presentations with lighter lines.

Mike - I thought it balanced well. My 8-weight setup is filled with about 250 yards of PowerPro Hollow Ace on a LA.
