Default Sport king fly rod

I have an old sport king rod.... it does not say anything else on it anywhere... it is dull red in color has an aluminium reel seat and the joint of the 2 peices is also aluminium. I'll get a pic up asap.

If anybody could give me more info and maybe a guestimation on value it would be appreciated. Thanks

Default Re: Sport king fly rod

Sport King rods were sold by Montgomery Ward and are fairly low end.
The value of vintage rods is all about who made them, the condition, and the length.
A Sport King bamboo rod in very good condition might be worth $75 - $125
A fiberglass rod (which I'm guessing yours is) in the same condition.....$25 - $30
Either way these rods are more valuable as a fishing tool than they are as collector items. Don't be afraid to use it. Start with a 6wt line, then try a 7
