TELL me about it. too often the gaudiness is painful to view, and the scary part is often many rave about how nice it looks...

When all else fails, read the instructions. This axiom came home to me when I went to Sage's web site and saw where they place a serial # on the rod shaft directly behind the Sage logo. This serial # is not on blanks. I too have seen the B following the model # on some rods and assumed this stood for blank. But the missing serial # is not something I was aware of. Now this screams out at me--- How long have they been putting serial #'s on their rods and is this something new? Do they not put serial #'s on blanks as well a put the "B" on blanks? How long have they be putting "B" on blanks? Food for thought.

PS. I looked at my Sage SLT 3wt and sure enough, there is the serial # right where they said it would be.
