I had an 8'6" pre-IPC 5wt. Thought it was great. I've wiggled some IPC
LU, and they seem about the same as pre-IPC .

A friend just gave me a a 9ft 10wt Legend Ultra he had sitting in his closet (still in packaging might I add) for free. He got into Sage rods and does not need it.

Default Re: St. Croix Legend Ultra

I have a 10wt Legend (no ultra)
It has a faster action than most of my other rods, I thought I was fishing with a broom stick the first time out
I usually use mine for fishing in the surf with either a 10wt full sink line or a 12wt floater.
It's a good rod for when the wind is up
