Thread: Persall's Gossamer Silk Thread in Primrose
Hackle: Partridge wrapped reverse style (Pheasant is also a great alternative)
Thorax: Peacock Herl 6 wraps (3 wraps up to the base of the feather, 3 wraps down over top)
Whip finish behind the thorax.

Ooops, I forgot that after some experimenting I ended up tying these on a #14 200R and not a standard Nymph hook.

Thanks again Larry. The PICs are excellent. And thanks to the rest of you. As a new tyer with no fly shop handy, it's hard to come up with model flies worthy of copying. I assure you I will be attempting to tie some of these patterns.

First and foremost, Happy New Year, sir! I also want to thank you for handling the fly swap for all of us. The photos of the flies are beautiful.

Here's my recipe:

Tiemco wetfly hook #5262, size 14
UNI 6/0 thread in red
Ultra wire BR Copper
Natural premium partridge for the hackle
Peacock herl for the thorax
