Mark,

I'd like to change my tie to one of Carrie Steven's Rangely feather streamers. I fished a couple of times with my uncle on Rangely Lake decades ago and he used to order his flies from Carrie. It's time that I tackled one of her patterns. It will probably be either her "Witch" or "Canary" pattern; both of which I've fished with good success on larger lakes. 90% probability it will be the Witch.

Hope the change is OK with you. Let me know.

Now that I'm back to work full time ( for a few months until retirement time)
It's a problem to get anything done. I'll start on the streamers & 22 BWO's tonight. We have my 3yr old granddaughter living with us most of the time & I forgot how much worthwhile time a kid takes up........

PS I love those Rangely patterns!!!

This is the streamer I am tying. It has no name, but one was sent to me by a flyfisherman in Alaska while I was planning our first trip. It originally had a cone head, however over the past couple years I went with eyes.

I threw this for Rainbows in the mountains of Wyoming, two trips to Alaska, and all over Michigan. Has been a great fly for me and I always make sure I have a few along.

I have been a bit neglect, chasing Salmon, the Whitetail Deer, but will sit at the bench over the next few days to get these ready to go.

Hi Everyone,

The due date for some of the fly swaps that Mark was running is coming up. I hate to bring up the subject but we all know that Mark is absent. Some of you have already sent your flies to Mark and that will work out. Those who have not sent your flies has the choice of sending your flies to Mark, or holding them until he is back on line. We still have some time before this due date and I suggest you don't send you flies until we hear from Mark.

All of you who know Mark understands that if he could be here he would. I don't know how long before his situation is resolved but I hope everyone can be patient.

Has anyone sent in their flies for this swap? We may do something different if no one has sent in their flies.

Frank

Hi Frank,

I haven't sent mine in yet and I'll be right up against the Nov. 20th deadline for this swap, due to other commitments.

Hi all- sorry I've been away for awhile- I'll send a PM to all in the swap with my address. It looks like we have 8 confirmed in the swap so far and are on track with the Nov 20 due date. So if you want to tie up 7 you'll get one of everyone else's back, or 8 and get one of your own back.

Those flies look great 2paws- it looks like we'll have some great patterns- I'm thinking of something like a Shusan Postmaster.

Pocono- a Carrie Stevens pattern would be great!

Kelkay- I hope you're over the flu- I heard it hit pretty hard in TX-- so far it hasn't been too bad here (knocks on wooden head).

Mark,

I may be a little late on this one. I just found out that I'll be out of town all next week on business. So, it may be just in front of Thanksgiving for me, if that's OK with the group. Let me know.
