Default Re: Going Tiny Swap

I can have mine done this weekend.

Any others in this swap who can finish their flies up earlier than Dec. 15th? No push - just a question based on the fact that we're getting roughly 1/2 the swap flies tied up and shipped out within the next week.

Honestly, it doesn't make any difference to me. It's up to all of you.

Pocono

I haven't even had a chance to start yet, but I will see what I can do to finish up a little earlier.

Finished them up today; a dozen #22 Griffith Gnat variants.

Now I'm heading into some #28 nymph hooks. I tried tying up a couple of Disco Midges yesterday; single strand of red Krystal Flash / peacock herl from as far up on the eye as I could go without getting consistent breakage / olive 14/0 thread. Not easy! Now I understand what someone said earlier about the difficulty of simply getting the fly into the vise! I'll keep working on them and will post a pic or two if I tie into anything that looks halfway decent.

I haven't tied any as small as you guys, but did shoot one #20 hook across the room never to be seen again.

Ok, I finally decided what I am going to tie for this swap, but I don't know what it is called. It will be a midge-like thing with brown holo tinsel (Thanks, Joni - I really like that stuff!), peacock near the hook eye, and a trailing shuck. This will be size 24.

Thanks Mary. Sounds a little like a Disco Midge, with a trailing shuck. Feel free to re-name it; what I put in is just a placeholder.

Here's another update for everyone:

Futuramille - BH GRHE Nymph, #24 - COMPLETED
Joni - Black Snow Fly, #30
Bamboo10 - BWI para extended body, #20
Jimmie - Zebra Midge emerger, #20 - COMPLETED
Pocono - Griffith Gnat variant, #22 - COMPLETED
BlueDun - Tinsel Peacock Midge, #24
FISHN50 - TBD
tob1 - Paraloop Midge, #26 - COMPLETED
Greenwood - BWO wet, #20
Kerry Pitt - Jassid, #22/24 - COMPLETED
BlueBird - WD-40 Midge, #20
Get_Jiggy - Grizzly para Midge, #26

We still need a pattern from FISHN50. Otherwise, we're ahead of the game on this swap.

Oh yeah I put mine in the mail today. I suspect 7 business days to get there. Make sure you find the postage in the envelope before you toss it......Kerry

Nice flies Joni. I don't know how you do it.

Are those wings "Wulff style"; they look it from the pic, or are they spinner style tilted up (or something else)?
