Mark,

I took a first stab at the Leadwing Coachman pattern today. More to do, but I should be on-time for this swap.

Here's a pic: think of it as a work-in progress:

Beautiful Allen. I so wanted to do a wet coachman, but I didn't have enough duck. Fantastic.

This is my soft-hackle; it has several attributes that I really like to use. The tail is partridge; the abdomen is an adams gray turkey biot; the thorax is actually a pine squirrel fur hackle collar aka. Dave Hughes; and the hackle is a sparse partridge wrap. All tyed on a #14 3906b hook. It's a really great general purpose soft hackle. Since it's a frankensteined pattern...lol..I call it the 'lil webber'... : ) Lot's of action built into it with that nice segmented body coming through...the actual fly is somewhat darker than this picture shows....Click the image to open in full size.

Reid's Assassin is an old traditional soft hackle: black thread or silk body, silver ribbing, red tail, and black hackle.
