Would I be taking the easy way out if I tied some griffith's gnats? It'd be my first time tying something that small, and I've heard the griffith's gnat is a proven fish-catcher.

A.J.: That sounds great, Griffth's gnat is a great fish catcher out here when the midges are coming off!

aroostookbasser: WD-40 that is one of my favorite patterns! It really produces here in WY. I've fished with Mark Engler out of Duranglers on the San Juan a few times, he is the one credited with developing the WD-40 pattern for fishing the San Juan River, NM.

A.J. I agree with Larry. That fly works everywhere, but for some reason, I never tie them. I say please do tie them.

WD's are always my dropper goto.

I think I will do a Blood Midge.
