Thanks, they'll get out Monday.
Recipe:
Hook: #10 Gamakatsu S10S (dry fly, straight eye)
Thread: Pearsalls Gossamer (Rust-ish colored)
Tail: Three pheasant tail fibers
Body: Apricot Labradoodle hair (or Australian possum in a pale cream color)
Hackle: Speckled hen saddle feather, no more than two turns
Wing: The tip end of the hackle feather, tied into position*
Adapted from Dick Talleur's
Trout Flies for the 21st Century, who got it from Thomas Ames'
Hatch Guide for NE Streams, but the fly was designed by George Schlotter.
*I should add that I erred on the side of a longer wing, because I figured it could be clipped in the field, if needed.
Edit: Went out today--looking forward to seeing what everyone else tied.
