Really Larry? I can't believe it would take that long. It's been a couple weeks hasn't it?

I hope you get them soon, that's a lot of donation flies.

Ok, I'm a little dense, but I finally figured out what was going on. I received a package with the return address of Tim (aka bear 007), which I thought was a donation to PHW, but in actuality that package was sent by Eunan (aka S fontinalis), using a recycled envelope that contained Eunan's Caddis Fly Swap donation, my Caddis flies and the extras from the rest of the fly tiers. These flies are all going to the guys and gals at Project Healing Waters.

Thanks everyone that participated in the Caddis Fly Swap, they are all beautifully tied patterns and the guys and gals at PHW are going to enjoy fishing with them this summer, and a big thanks to Eunan for hosting the swap.

Ha!

Well, Larry now you know, Mississippi has the slowest mail system!

Or maybe being the package came from the North, it had to go through customs, lol!

Dustin: Yes, you won the slowest mule train deliver, at least this time, we can get some pretty slow mail at times.

Your comment on customs reminded me of JP (aka jpbfly) from southern France, he sent me a couple of those small bottles of French wine and some canned duck one time several years ago. Of course, customs confiscated it and I never received it, oh well they enjoyed some fine French wine and duck. The strange thing is that his wife sends wine to her friends in Russia and it goes through just fine, strange world.

My wife used to work in the US Attorney's office in Boston and handled some of those confiscation cases. Often there wouldn't be a defendant to claim the confiscated goods, but they needed a judge's order to dispose of them legally, which resulted in court cases with odd captions such as "United States v. 23 Wheels of Cheese".

That is interesting, I had no idea how they actually disposed of confiscated goods, but the court case titles are just too funny! Thanks for sharing.

The weirdest was the foreign porn videos. Apparently during the Reagan administration it became illegal to import foreign-made porn videos, even as the courts were increasingly striking down other anti-porn statutes and local codes on free-speech grounds. (Politically it was a twofer: politicians could both appear morally upright and protect a growing domestic industry from foreign competition.) Customs agents would confiscate porn videos from people entering the country, and if the traveler wanted them back there needed to be a hearing to determine if the video was indeed sufficiently pornographic to warrant confiscation. So around the office Friday afternoons came to be called "porn night": the judge on duty that day would order in sandwiches for the lawyers and set up a screen in his chambers, and together they would watch all the porn videos confiscated during the week. (Not all trials are bitterly adversarial, it would seem.) The tame ones were returned to their owners, and the nasty ones were sent to the Dept of Justice in Washington, where they were archived in what the lawyers informally called the "Attorney General Edwin Meese Federal Foreign Pornography Library," or just the "Meese Porn Stash" for short. (Needless to say, the women lawyers were generally a lot less eager for that duty than the men.)

Well, I said I would update:
ts47, your fly was a hot commodity on the truckee today! Nabbed me quite a few decent trout! I'll be tying up some of my own now as well.
What size did you send? Looks to be a 12 scud/pupa hook maybe?
Looks a little chewed up because it is
