Default MAY Chironomid Swap

I was at the tying desk tonight tying the Streamers and thought...MY favorite type of fishing is deep nymphing with Chironomids.
So how about a Chronomid swap for May. Make the dead line for all these flies May 5th
Cut off at a dozen people, so...who is in?

Okay, a Chironomid is a worm/pupa stage of an insect.
Chironomid's are one of the trout's main food sources and hatch pretty much all year long on streams, rivers, and lakes. Up North they start to hatch when the ice leaves the lake and continue until the ice comes back on. Mid May ‘til the end of June will find the strongest hatches.

Basically, Thread, Wire, Thorax, Gills. Some with beads some without.

Thanks Joni,

OK; I've never tied one of those before, but I'm game and I always get more fish sub-surface than I do on top (even though I love the visual element of fising dries). I'm a taker - count me in!

Right On Thanks. This is really one of the easiest flies to tie. Not as easy as a SJW but close LOL

I tied this one for the St Patty's swap:

I like the beads but you don't need to add them
