Maybe the Admin/Mods can....If there was a way to do it myself I'd have a few capital letters in mine.

I found out the hard way that it isn't easy, and tried to make a new name, and that made the mods not too pleased. I looked up the rules of the forum, and really you aren't able to, without making a new name. But having two accounts is also against the rules. So... yeah.

It does seem to be a bit of a strict board!

Hi,

We've been around quite a while and although some of our regulations may seem arbitrary and strict there is a reason for each.

As for changing the name on an account / membership, that is done by someone with an administrative control system. I don't know of any forums where the members can change their user names without administrative help.

The Multiple Account rule is simple. A person with 2 different user names operating from the same computer could (at the very least) carry on a back and forth discussion on a thread which could end up causing some level of confusion.

Strict? Perhaps but this is a forum tailored toward the sharing of information regarding fly fishing. We have a deep pool of members here with extensive experience. From the newest member asking which brand of rod or wader to consider to folks with 60 or more years of travel and fishing experiences behind them this is the makeup of the active members.

We don't argue, we don't curse, (although some euphemisms containing colorful wording are allowed) we watch our classified sales close to avoid scams or fraud, what we specialize in is being a friendly and informative place on the web.

If any moderators got upset because someone ask to change user names that would surprise me greatly however I suggest you chose one carefully because we don't have time to adjust 60,000 of them

No, that needs to be done by the business office as we are tied to the UK forum.

Click on this link and over on the far right, click on "Contact", send an email to Ian, telling him what your username is and what you would like to have him change it to. He will take care of it.
