How Many Fly Boxes Do You Carry In Your Vest/Pack?

I have my flies seperated into catagory. Streamer, Caddis, Dry, etc.
The time of the year and what is hatching tells me how many boxes to carry in my vest. I always have all the boxes in the truck just in case.

I most often try to keep it to one thin box but if there are salmon, trout, and char all in the water at once I usually have a streamer wallet along too so I said "2"

I know I carry way too many..... If there's a pocket, it'll have a flybox in it,. I tried to start using a chest pack but had a problem deciding what flies to leave behind. Out of all the flies I carry I probably don't use more than 15-20 a day so I have a lot of unused iron in the vest. This year I plan on thinning down to about 3 flyboxes & not suitcase size ones either......

Been there done that, I used to joke that if I fell on hard times I could set up a fly sale right along a creek or at a parking area and make a killing.

Now it's up again, I was not even home at 3:29 PM. today? This post keeps showing up as a current action from me. Does anyone else have this happening now and then?

Depends on what I'm fishing for; Steelies see 3 or 4 boxes, nymphs in one, egg patterns in another, streamers in the 3rd, and experimental flies in the last box.

Regular trout fishing; 3 boxes, dries, nymphs, terrestrials. For my beloved Hex fishing, pretty much one box, well make it two.

Warmwater, 3 boxes in my chest pack, plus what might be on the fly patch.

I carry about seven boxes with me yet never seem to have the box I need at the time!

I am not sure I understand the problem? I don't see a post in this thread with a time stamp of 3:29 on any day. Is that post in another thread?

Being in Alaska there could be some delay in getting your information to the NAFFF server. The information is sent in data packets and there could get delayed in the commutations carriers. Sometimes data is resent many times before it reaches the final destination. It should not be as long as you are talking about.

There is work going on with the system getting ready for the move to a new server and some other changes. So I wouldn't be too worried about anything going on until the move is made and working.

It depends on what type of fishing I am doing. If I am trout fishing 1-2 box filled with 250 flies same with steelhead and salmon. If I am muskie/pike fishing I have 4-5 boxes. If I am bass fishing I have a handful of flies.
