I'm in the same area as John and Joni(Utah) and I would give it a shot too. It's gonna have to be a pretty big building though.

wow! I have been reading up on old posts and polls and came up on this. To me this seems like an interesting and exciting idea! I know that there are indoor water parks so I think this can be done. the park could hold a variety of fish species and situations, it could even be marketed for practice for fly fishing or spin gear schools where fishing companies could benefit from by sponsoring. They could have large pools to represent ponds as well as streams and small rivers in different sections and even waterfalls. I know that it can get very detailed in replicating the outdoors with todays agriculture technology and planning (this would be best for winter I imaging) The biggest problem I can see happening is the entering fee being too high and catching being too easy maybe. anyways if anyone else sees this thread let me know how do you think this would work??

Maybe I'm off base here but to me its the stupiest most artifical thing I've ever heard of and wouldnt do it if the fish had $100 bill taped to their heads and there were naked cheerleaders

I'd have to go check it out some day when it was 20 below and my streams were mostly froze solid. Probably post a trip thread right here with some grip and grins so I could annoy my friends who live on prime water.

Seriously though, I can't even imagine what it would cost to do it right and achieve some resemblance of a natural stream. The fish would likely be so harassed it wouldn't be easy to catch them. You'd need a building the size of a stadium.

I'm not sure it would be much different than the thousands of pay to fish ponds that are already across the country. But, as much as I hate winter, nope, this would definitely not be for me.

I noticed that Ard. The concept is such an extreme case of angling blasphemy however that I was compelled to pile onto the thread resurrection.

Throw in some bourbon and some redheaded naked cheerleaders and I'm there.
