When I'm not fishing, I'm thinking of fishing. For some reason that leads to buying another rod or tackle of some kind. There better be fly fishing in heaven or I'm not going.

I've bought three rods in the last two weeks.

A cheap Backup eight weight
7'9" 4 wt TFO Finesse
10' 6 wt white river fly shop classic.

Rounds my total out to eight rods.
2 4's
2 6's
2 8's

I currently have 4 but the 5th is on way here and that's a Fly Logic Optimum 6-7 weight 9'0" 2 piece.

The others are:
Fly Logic Optimum 3 piece 9'0" 7 weight
Fly Logic Optimum 3 piece 8'6" 4-5 weight
Lacrosse Axis II 2 piece 9'0" 5 weight
Orvis Trident 2 piece 9'0" 8 weight

When I lived in Colorado for 21 years I fished a lot of streams and Lakes (belly boat) and I used Sage 5 weight rods exclusively but I sold them when I moved to Arkansas 10 years ago. I'm just now getting back into fly fishing and I plan on doing some Bass fishing in local lakes and also trout fishing on the White River and the Little Red River.

I decided in the past two years that there is no use having rods that have been sitting around not used, when I can sell them and get something I will use. Sold two 4wts to get another 4, sold a 5 and a 6wt to get a new 5wt, etc. So I am down to 8 single hand and 2 spey rods. Now I am going to sell a 6wt and an 8wt to get a new 7wt!

This poll made me realize how much of a gearhead I am when I was stuck on 9 and ultimately having to vote 5 or more (ah shucks!) then realizing one more rod in the closet. Yeah!... I can vote 10 or more!

Well I can proudly say I am down to 9 (of mine), I have my fathers old rod and 2 of mine from my youth in the garage. They never get fished so they dont count.

I sold off a 3wt and 2 5wts. I had 4 3wts now I am down to 3 of those and no 5wts. I just decided I have a 9' 4wt so no point in having a 9'3wt to use once a year. Also sold two 5wts that never got used, again because I have 4wts and 6wts.

It was a sad day when I realized I couldnt even dream up a rod that I might need. I like the ones I have so much I cant see replacing them

Reels ......that is a whole other story

I "only" have three! But that is beacuse I'm 16 and broke (wonder why?) Might as well list em' here.

TFO BVK 9' 5wt
Custom Built TFO Finesse 7'3" 2wt.
Custom Built ST. Croix Imperial 7'6" 3/4 wt.

Pretty well covers al the types of fioshing I do here in AZ and whenever I go to the SJ or Lee's Ferry, though.
