I did the same plan in August one year. Everyday the winds were too much for my 6 wt rod and line.
This year I'm planning a trip to the Cripple Creek area in the Rockies with my brother-in-law. He says in knows a few good places. Any of you have ideas for that area?
When things get hectic around the house, my wife threatens to move to Montana, Ummm, by herself. Hopefuly we can hit that area too. Is it true that for a non-residence Fishing License, a Conservation License is needed too?

Dave: I have only been to Cripple Creek once, that was a road trip on the bikes, but I think there is a stream nearby, if I recall correctly. At any rate you are just south of the South Platte, Colorado's Dream Stream.
