What's the difference between Methodists and Baptists?

Methodists acknowledge each other in the Liquor store.
Hey now I am Baptists, BUT that joke is FUNNY LOL
(and kinda true)
Glad to see this thread I was just thinking the other day you do not hear much about the G.L. rods latley. I hear about Sage, Redington, and TFO, but not much about G.L.

Been thinking about adding one to my arsenal, after my Orvis trout bum 4wt
I use to fish one years ago and I have a Cabelas 10' 6wt that is a GL rod with Cabelas logo on it. I fished that one just the other day and other then being a little heavy after a couple hours it is a killer rod for makeing LONG roll cast.

I really dont know yet, may get a light trout rod, or a 6-7 wt for steamers and windy days and bass or a 8-9 for hybrid striper. I like the looks of the East Fork rods. I really dont need any new rods, but my wife says I am an addicted gear junkie LOL

Most of us, have more gear than we need but it is part of the enjoyment of the game.
One rod Loomis has in their current line up worth a look is the Xperience. Have cast the 9 wt and was impressed by the power of the blank. Easy on the wallet.

To me it's more about who designs the blank, taper etc than whose label is on the rod. This might start a debate on this subject, so be it. Speaking for myself only, Steve Rajeff is a top designer of fly rods and my choice. The reason I have been fishing Loomis rods.
