Re: Hardy Classic LRH Lightweight Fly Rod - the review!
I have the 6' 2 wt rod. I like it pretty well but am finding a 7' rod is more what i need for the purpose I bought this rod for. Not the rod's fault. It does cast pretty well for a short 2 wt. Where I find myself using it I'm doing more dabbling & just flipping my fly. With a fish the size I intended this rod for, it works fine & feeling the little brookies hasn't been a problem. I did very well in a 2 wt rod shootout I read somewhere.
Dryfly, I don't think I can totally agree with your comments on these rods. They have a purpose that a fast, "performance" rod wouldn't work very well for. In close, small streams. Maybe the 5 wt is lacking somewhat when compared to other rods but, not every situation calls for, or needs, a fast rod.
