Maybe we need a page for good deeds? It is just a great relief to hear about the good people out there for a change.

Kerry: Amen to that! It just doesn't seem to happen much anymore, but like Frank said it was probably another fly fisherman that returned the bag.

Merlin is on a distinguished road
Default Re: Missing bag

Here is a story for you. While traveling down the hill from my house perhaps two miles away I spotted a briefcase on the side of the road. I stopped and looked around but nobody there, so did my things down town and went home to search inside to whom it might belong. I found a name and called the man and told him I wanted to return his briefcase, that I found it on the side of the road. He was very thankful and told me he had put it on top of his car and then forgot it and of course it fell off. He was so happy he gave me two tickets to what is called Midnight Madness, UMass basketball games. Turns out he was an assistant coach, tickets were rare and expensive, but I have absolutely no interest in basketball and none being out at midnight but I knew they had value and someone out there would apprecaite them. I put the word out and an attorney friend was more then pleased to take them off my hands and of course I said free and told him the story.
That was fifteen years ago and all the casual work I have done with him has been for freee and he relays what a great time he had there with his son, court side.
I guess the saying might be right "what comes around goes around".

Merlin: That was a great story, I'm sure getting free tickets to a UMass basketball game was a very welcome gift and sounds like he really appreaciated what you did!

Glad you got your bag back...Gives you a good feeling knowing there are still Good Samaritans out and about.
