Lightbulb The Fischmeister's extra--ordinary flybox

This morning I've visited my old friend Roland we affectionately call the Fischmeister to get some rooster feathers. As I've already told you he's an amazing flyfisherman on more than one account. He has extraordinary home made flyboxes....so I asked him if I could take a pic of one of them and post it on the forum.

It's an old cigarette metal box, inside he stuck little metal pill boxes in which there are magnets he found in the door of a fridgeI've never seen such a box anywhere else.Maybe it's one of his numerous secrets....his flies attrack trout like a magnet
Jackster, Hardyreels, fysh and 7 others like this.

JP: That is a very interesting looking fly box, pretty ingenius use of old materials, and some great looking dry flies inside!

Pretty cool, very creative. For any of you that run in the DIY crowd, there are thin magnets available with adhesive on the backside used for business cards at staples. You could easily put them into tins or boxes of your choosing to keep flies from moving around.
Hardyreels likes this.

That's a great way to store dries securely without smashing the hackles.
