Default Pre-tied Pheasant Tail Hopper Legs

Anyone know where to get these or do you just tie your own? I tried to tie my own tonight, and it was a pain in the arse. Is there a tool to help?

Any fly fishing shop that carries Hareline Dubbin products should carry pretied hopper legs. I'm too lazy, so I get them at the shop.

I tie my own. Rather than use the tool I use hemostats. The narrow curved type work the best. It takes a little practice and experimenting. Not too much though.

Its not quite as easy as the tools above, but you can use a Matarelli whip finisher to make them as well.

Grab the bunch of fibers you intend to make a leg from, make a loop, pinch the loop with your left hand, then use the crook at the top of the whip-finisher to pull the fibers into the loop.

I'd rather hunt fish than bait deer any day.
