Default Classic Fisherman's Catch

Classic Fisherman's Catch

We've all seen it in countless cartoons...
Fisherman catches boot. But this is the first I've seen it for real.

ET (Ed Tamai) took a day off from guiding to try his hand at Peacock Bass.
He hooked this "Army boot" using a streamer fly and sinking tip line over by the condos,
accross from Schofield Army Bks....

This is where you'll find ET on most days of the week.
Out on the flats chasing Oio (bonefish).

That's hilarious. I'm with you-- never actually seen anyone catch a boot in real life.... His expression is wrong, though, from what I have seen in the cartoons--most look grieved-- he looks happy to have caught a boot...

Did the boot put up a good fight? John Gierach wrote that he once played
a snagged willow branch for 15 minutes before realizing it wasn't a fish....LOL!

Hi Stan,

That's a good one! Long ago I caught a sandal, not my size so I threw it back.
