Default Horse-ng around on the river

After a full month of zero fishin, I could not take it anymore. I grabbed my
6wt, vest and waders and hit the river. Water level was low and warm so I knew fish would be few and far between. No matter, just casting practice anyway. I'm fishing an Olive WB catching bluegill left and right when I hear a crash behind behind me. I turn around and see a rather large woman with two horses walking down the trail. She sees me, then proceeds to take the horses off the trail and walk them into the river not 20 yards from where I'm fishing. Now mind you I'm practically alone on this streatch of river and te water is quite deep on the far bank so I was surprised that she selected this particular spot to cross. Once midstream, she stops and let's the horses swim around for awhile. Ifn I was a cowboy I would have said a discouraging word; however, based on the size of the horses, not to mention the woman, I just left and drove upstream.

I've had my fishing area invaded by rafters, swimmers and bait slingers, but this was a first........

And were "the skies not cloudy all day"?

Does sound like quite a bizarre experience.

I'd rather hunt fish than bait deer any day.

not all horse people are like this. me and my wife would never think about doing something like this. the cost of saddles and all the leather that goes with riding is rather expensive. not to mention the possibilities of what could happen in the water. submerged limbs and what ever else. not to mention the danger to the rider. the wife has crossed creeks before and she says that you must be careful or else you could go for a unexpected ride. not very smart on the riders behalf.

My bad freeze my parents and brother ride horses, and realize what's right and whats wrong. There are just some people who ride horses that think they are the only outdoor past time out there.

no bad done. we see people doing stupid stuff all the time on horse back. had a couple of days ago riding down our road with a very young child(maybe 1-2yrs old if that) that were looking the other direction. almost were in the middle of the road.
