Connection Knot
Perhaps this is not the correct location, but I have question:
I have a 37ft shooting head for my switch rod. I got a running line that is rated at 20#. The shooting head has a welded loop at both ends. How would you connect the two? Should I make a loop in the running line and wrap it with a whip finish? Should I cut the loop off from the head and tie together with a blood knot? If not a bloodknot, what knot would you recommend? Is there any other possibilities? Right now, I did a 6-turn surgeon's loop in the running line, but it bangs like hell on the guides when I'm shooting line. As always, you guys are the best.
