To each his own I suppose. I much prefer the milder flavor of farm raised over wild. But hey... thats me. What the heck do I know?

Was only kidding Steve, and come to think of it, criticising for putting all fish back is kinda silly.

I'd rather hunt fish than bait deer any day.

It must be the purina dog chow that gives that mild flavor. *L*

THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR ALL THE REPLIES

I never knew about fiberglass mounts. Do you just give
the "builder" some photos & he does the rest ?

I hope to get a real nice waterproof digital camera sometime
soon so I can take lots of pictures of my trophies, whether
large or small. Being out in His wilderness is what is awesome
to me. Catching fish is just an extra He gives.

By the way I do mimic much of what all of you had to say. I
do practice catch/release most all the time. I will also occasionally
bring some home for the table.

Enjoy what He gives,

Tie One On

Here is a fiberglass replica and I don't think the real thing would be any better.

Nice smallie, Frank!

I almost got a fiberglass mold of the best walley I ever caught, but instead I just took the measurements and some photos. I didn't have the camera with me, but I was close to home, so I put the walleye into a large bucket, drove straight home, took the pics, then drove back to the lake and released her. I'd probably do the same with a trout, but now I try to always carry my digital camera when hunting or fishing.

As for eating, I love this time of year to catch, keep, and freeze plenty of bluegills to keep me fed through the summer months. I live on a 44,000 acre lake, so I don't think I'll adversely affect the bluegill population!
