Negative, and not a hybrid. This is a scan of a print taken back in about aught three. It's one of the better ones for ID, but a smaller than average specimen. milt.

Saltwater or freshwater? While the photo would have to be washed out for it to be the case, it looks very close to a weakfish, but that looks like freshwater.

While spotted seatrout/specks are related to weakfish, that's definitely bigger than average for a speck, and if it was one, the angler wouldn't have his hand in the fish's mouth for fear of having nasty bucktooth punctures.
