Default Photographs & Memories of Another Life;

I have been scanning some old print photos for a project and thought I would show a few here as well. Being old school at this I fished for a long time before the idea of taking pictures of fish occurred to me. back then there was no internet and the only way to show a picture was to do so in person. Up until 1997 I just took out the hook and let em go. Then one day I was snooping in a used furniture store and in the cabinet where they displayed electronics there sat a Minolta Freedom pocket camera. Seven dollars was too good to pass up so I bought the camera and stuck it into my tackle bag. Of course there were still days when I left it in the bag locked in the truck but sometimes I had it with. None of the pictures were taken at night, I was a crack of dawn fisherman and the cameras flash creates a darkness effect but it was dawn. Few were the times I had anyone to take a picture and many were the fish who slipped my grip before they became part of the record.

I don't know Ard...

With that "porn star" gigolo mustache, how did you get any fishing in?

PS... Thanks for the article... it is a good read.

Thanks guys,

I put some more pictures on the original post including one of me that was in the album without my fly rod. It's been about 15 or 16 years since those pictures were taken and this is the first time I've shown them to anyone. When I look and think back I wish I had taken more and much better photos of life back in Pennsylvania. That's where all those fish were living at when we met.

Yeah John it is, I had 3 pair of them before they went extinct. I loved those waders because of the thick pads.

Hi Gary,

I have one of those sitting right beside me now, I've yet to load the software and get started but may do so today. There are some mini albums still stored down in Colorado that have a bunch of Land Locked Salmon pictures dating back to 1980 in them. Someday I'll get them in hand and scan some of those.

Ard
