Interesting. Thanks, Frank.

It's a wonder what biologists do just so we can catch a certain variety of trout, in every sustainable trout stream, seemingly across the country.

Now out here, they are poisoning entire watersheds to in an effort to rid them of the invasive species once sought in order to replace them with the native species that were over run by the "more desirable" sub-species...

awesome fish frank!
there are a few lakes/ponds near here that are stocked yearly.... i know my friends have caught rainbows up to 30" in some of the lakes.... i rarely go to the lakes because there are so many river opportunities right in or just a few minutes from town. perhaps i'll have to start hunting lake rainbows with a wooly bugger too.

You never know what'll turn up. I was fishing the same lake two years ago for stocked trout (April), and landed a 25" largemouth! I was expecting that any more than the 22" rainbow. Gotta love surprises like that.

That's a beauty! It's easily heavier than most of the grilse I landed this summer/fall.
