HAHA, i was right first! Just kidding.

I was guessing that was it because they have a much larger mouth than the rest of the sunfish, (except for those we call bass) And they love to pummel flies. I've got a picture of one I once caught on a large foam hopper that was at least half the length of the fish, need to scan it, its amazing.

I've heard so much debate on what secies actually are a warmouth/goggle-eye/rock bass I don't even try to keep them straight anymore.

devegus: I thought that pic would help out.... I was thinking green sunfish and then I saw where Cliff had already mentioned it and beat me to the punch! Some them (and even some of the hybrids) can have the most beautiful coloration in their fins that i've ever seen.
