Catch and release or catch and eat?

I kept a few stocked trout last year, but that was the first time since the age
of 13-14. After seeing whirling disease from about 4 feet away, I'm happy
catching them again.

I caught a WHOOPING white crappie yesterday afternoon, but released it. It
was caught in the same lake as Tuesday's "trophy bass", and I caught a
16" fat LMB in that same area yesterday as well. The crappie was caught on
the second cast, and the LMB was caught about 300 casts later . If the
lake was a drainage impoundment, I might keep some of the many crappie I
catch there.......
