For 2012....
1. Fish some new waters that I've been saying I would get to, these include The Missouri, Beaverhead, Bitteroot, Salt, and Teton Rivers.

2. To catch more Steelhead, and make a trip up to The Clearwater.

3. To sit my butt back down at the vise and really learn to tie Salmon Flies with Allen. (Wovenstonefly).

Two goals for me.

20" Trout and a 5 lb bass.

Bass probably won't be all that hard.

Some nice thoughts here.

I always want to fish more than the year before. I will help my daughter catch a trout before she turns 4. Then on a fly before she turns 5.

Observe insects more, watch and learn my local hatches better than ever - Observe trout reacts to the hatches - with the goal of becoming a better angler.

Explore some small streams in the wilds.

Land a Brown over 20", it's been a couple years.

Some goals for 2012 are

-Catch a 20" trout
-Explore more streams
-Get my younger brother to catch his first trout

The last one is probably the most important to me, I would love to see him become as hooked as I am.

-pike
-muskie
-carp
-Walleye
-Salmon?
-Flats fishing in the keys with my GF's dad (tarpon!!??bonefish!!??)
-Bass >15"
-trout >24"

-hopefully get to catch something on my 10wt. It has been along for looks and casting practice so far.
-distance casting at the park, I thought it was silly at first, but now I am gaining distance and improving with a variety of rods and lines.
-learn how to cast my albright 6wt better (very soft for my heavy handed casting).

Fish for musky on the fly.
Improve my fly fishing and fly tying in general.
Meet and fish with more forum members.

Happy New Years to all, hope you all accomplish your goals!

Default Re: 2012 Goals

Mine
1. Catch "A" steelhead, 3 years i a long time trying
2. Master the Jock Scott
3. Tie and perfect more classic wets other than the Alexandra
4. Fish more.
5. Fill the range of rods from 0wt to 10 wt (that'll be 8 more, and will probably take more than a year)
6. Buy a spey rod (and maybe fulfil #1)
