Default Sage z-axis and allen reel!

So my z-axis came in today and my allen reel is on order! thanks to all who aided in my decision for the allen reel! The sage is a 9 foot 3wt and its absolutly gorgeous cannot wait for early trout season! anybody else have a 3wt z-axis?

Sounds great, you are going to fall in love with that setup! Be sure to post a trip report once you get that beauty out on your favorite stream.

I picked up a 9 ft. 4 wt. Z-Axis and borrowed a old Medalist 1494 off of my Fenwick. So far the rod has been fantastic and it's looking like it might keep the reel and the Fenwick will be getting something else. As far as the Z-Axis, I liked it so much, I purchased a 9 foot 6 wt. and a 9 ft. 8 wt. to round out my choices.

Northern wisconsin the trout season is closed after september 30th and opens back up first saturday in march for early season so barbless only single hooks and c&r. And then in may harvest comes out but i usually only keep one or two all year just to enjoy that wonderful taste!

And i cant wait to bring it out on the stream if only the ice was melted off my favorite stream haha!

I don't own a 3wt Z but have the 4 and 5. I love these rods and was sorry to see them go other than the great deals on closeout.

That rod should prove to be very capable in your neck of the woods. Early Season trout fishing in Wisconsin means the fan will be on! Congratulations on your purchase.

i have an 8wt z-axis that i use for steelhead and salmon. its paired up with a lamson waterworks ul force. i can't say enough about either. the ceramic brakes on that reel stops those steelhead with ease. congrats on the z-axis you'll enjoy it
