Default An ocean giant meets an unfortunate end

I know it was by no means intentional but it's a shame that such an amazing creature should meet such an unfortune end...

Just imagine hooking something like that in shallower water, and then watching it scream the line and backing off your reel before snapping it like a 8/0 tying thread..... all the time wondering, "What the heII was that???"

Don't laugh, most of the the "Scallops" sold in the US aren't actually scallops. They are made from Skate of Ray wings. If you order scallops and they are all the same size and shape your eating Skate wings

most certainly not true.

There may be a few unscrupulous people trying this but there is now way it would even come close to "Most of".

This is what the meat looks like

How do you think you get a scallop out of that?

I used to fish for Bat Rays in Tomales Bay and a buddy decided he was gonna try to make scallops out of one. It didn't look like a scallop and it didn't taste like one.
