Default The anticipation builds.... (upcoming trip)

I'm heading to Des Moines Iowa on Monday for several days of research in the state archives. I'll be camped at Saylorville lake outlet and not have a thing to do in the evenings except fish! looks to be a good warmwater lake.

Then it's off to Missouri for a few days of trout fishing at Bennett Spring State Park.

Change of scenery is always a good thing. Fishing always seems better when its someplace new... whether it is or not.

Very true. Even a little variance in an old place helps. This morning I fished a pond I've hit a zillion times but had a large bunch of cattails that kept you out of a large stretch of bank. They cut them out and that new section of water made it an entirely new experience.

Bennett is a nice park, theres not too much stream frontage to fish but there is enough to keep you busy. Make sure you keep a nice thin leader on your line. Those hatchery fish are spooky
