Thumbs up Back from Austria...Part2

After five days on the Tux,we moved to the hotel Post which owns a section of the Oeztaler Ache, two little lakes and a beautiful mountain stream the Nederbach. Most people come to fish the big river in spring and autumn. In summer it’s not fishable because of the run off and used by rafters. It rained a lot on the road so we were a bit worried …the Nederbach was a bit high but clear enough to fish on dry.The lower section is very fast and overgrown and it’s usually our favourite because nearly nobody fishes there, but the water was a little high to enjoy it really. So we mainly fished the upper section which is far easier. There are lots of browns and a few rainbows, the fish are not very big 14 ,15” for the biggest .The owner of the lodge asked us if we didn’t mind filling a statistics sheet every evening to see what’s going on on his stream…that’s what we did and I daren’t say how many fish we could catch…we had three great days except on 14th in the morning when it rained too much. The Hotel Post is a charming and romantic place,it’s one of the oldest hotels in Austria…their chef is an artist!!!
One more thing….we were the only fishermen !!!

JP, those are some great pictures, makes me wish I could have accompanied you guys! That last brown has the body color of a cutthroat that looks like it was working on its brown trout costume!

JP, that brown IS amazing. Very unique spot pattern and orange accents on the fins. Thanks for taking us along! milt.
