Default New old stock fly line

So can a new unopened box of fly line be straightened to any usable state after sitting in the box for say 10-15years?

Yes.

The main issue is how the line was stored.

If it was stored in climate controlled area, the line should be fine.

If it was stored in a garage in which temperature and humidity are in flux, I would consider not using it. The plastic coatings can be affected by changes in temperature and humidity.

I can testify to that personally.
I had an "new" old line deteriorate in my hands on the first day out. At first it felt as if some kind of lubricant was leaking from the line. Then as it washed off in the surf the line became so dry that it failed to cast
