1 - ST CROIX IMPERIAL 7'6" 4wt (my first rod, sold to me by Harry Murray)
1 - ORVIS HELIOS ZG 9' 7wt (my second)
1 - ORVIS HELIOS ZG 7' 4wt (my third)
1 - ORVIS HELIOS ZG 9' 5wt (my fourth)
1 - ORVIS SUPERFINE TOUCH 8'6" 3wt (my last, err, my latest rod)

The best rod is always the next one you buy ;-)

I keep telling myself I don't need another rod, then I figure, I don't NEED any rods. So just get what the heck I want.
Then again, I have to share the discretionary funds with other hobbies (bow hunting, clay shooting, photography) so I'm laying off getting new rods...then again the new H2 is coming out...ah dang!

Took some time to read through this thread and glad I did; feeling a little relieved that I may be somewhat normal

7.5' 4wt Redington Crosswater

8.5' 5wt Sage Z-Axis (just bought)

9' 6wt Redington Classic Trout

9.5' 7/8wt Daiwa (probably will be sold or given away)

9' 8wt Sage Flight

9' 9wt Orvis Clearwater II

9' 9wt Sage VXP

I use all of them except the Daiwa

Default Re: Just Curious: How Many Fly Rods Do you Own

I have seven.

3 weight Ross Worldwide Essence FC
4 weight Scott G2
4 weight Greys Streamflex 10 ft
5 weight Scott A3 (technically my wife's rod)
5 weight Scott S4
6 weight TFO Professionall II
7 weight TFO BVK

I frequently sell or trade a rod in order to get a new one. I have owned over 25 in my lifetime but have never had more than 8 in my collection at any one time. But... I am always looking for the next weapon and will never say never.

Four years ago, I bought my first premium rod, telling myself that particular 9' 5 wt would do it all for me. I know, delusional. I now have:

1 - 3wt
5 - 4wts
4 - 5wts
2 - 6wts
1 - 7wt
1 - 8 wt

Ugh!
